How to Make a New Google Profile for Google Stories
To set up a separate profile in Google Analytics for your Web Stories, follow these steps.
In Google Analytics, click on ADMIN at the bottom left of your screen.
Click CREATE PROPERTY next to PROPERTY.
Add a property name in the box.
Click SHOW ADVANCED OPTIONS and select the toggle to the far right OF THE SCREEN to turn on CREATE A UNIVERSAL ANALYTICS PROPERTY.
ENTER YOUR WEB STORIES URL without the HTTPS or HTTP – this will be your website URL with /web-stories/ added to the end. (This URL will not be live until after you create your first web story.)
Select CREATE A UNIVERSAL ANALYTICS PROPERTY ONLY.
Click NEXT. Here Google will ask a few questions about your business. You do not need to select anything. Then click CREATE.
Now you’ll have your new TRACKING ID. Copy the code.
Open STORIES in your WordPress dashboard and go to EDITOR SETTINGS.
Paste your TRACKING ID in the box where it says ENTER YOUR GOOGLE ANALYTICS TRACKING ID.
And, now you can use Google Analytics to track your web stories and view pageviews, traffic stats, and more.
